ONE MORE DAY

Tomorrow is the day. We are heading out tomorrow for an adventure, FINALLY!!!!!!

We are heading up to the High Uintas for some fishing and hiking, but more importantly some time away from our busy lives. We have so much going on that most of the time it seems like we don't ever have time for ourselves. My wife and I don't typically see each other for more than half of every day. It will be a nice change to have a full week to ourselves.

The Plan: We are more or less going to wing it when it comes to where we are going to camp since all of the "improved" camp sites that are reservation aren't even open yet. But, we are hoping to get lucky with the first-come, first-serve side of things on some of the other improved sites. If not there are plenty of places that we can find to camp. We are going to be hitting several quick hikes from Thursday to Sunday. Most of which will be shorter 2 - 4 miles hikes since we will be packing my little man with us. Korver weighs almost 32 pounds so it will be a little rough.

The main area that we will be hiking is just below Bald Mountain on the South Slope off of Highway 150 (mirror lake highway). Many people still refer to this area as the North Slope even though the North slope is on the other side (Mirror Lake, Butterfly, Browne). We are hoping to go to John Lake, Three Divide Lakes, Possibly Notch Lake, and maybe even back to Marjorie Lake where we caught the Grayling last year.

There are still small patches of snow in many of the areas around 10,000 feet and higher but from what I can tell from one of the forums that I frequent that the snow in the area that we will be is all but gone. The fishing in the area isn't quite as good as it was last year due to the late snow season and winter kill. But, there are still plenty of fish ready to be caught, you just need to know what they are eating :)

I won't be able to post an update until we get back next Sunday. Wish us Luck!!!
